Tic-tac-toe is an easy first game to teach your preschooler. Practice taking turns and following simple rules. You can use popsicle sticks and rubber bands to make this portable tic-tac-toe board and play with alphabet cereal x’s and o’s.
Take four popsicle sticks and use four rubber bands to fasten them together into a tic-tac-toe frame, as shown.
To play, you will need 5 x’s and 5 o’s from a box of alphabet cereal.*
Take turns placing one of your pieces in one of the spaces formed by the popsicle sticks.
The goal is to get three in a row – or at least keep your opponent from getting there!
*Don’t have alphabet cereal? Use any small object – different colored marbles, different kinds of nuts – to play.
